Commodores Report 20th October

Following the Quiz we held back in March this year together with other fundraising, I am pleased to announce that the club has a new outboard motor to replace our very old and unreliable one and congratulations to Chris, one of our founder members for brokering a deal where the old one was taken in for a cash discount!

With the opening of the new Watersports Hub on the harbour, we are delighted to say that we are seeing an increase in youngsters wishing to get on the water and learn new skills. As a result of this we now require a new Safety / Support boat to be in service next season to maintain the high level of safety already in place. A suitable safety boat and trailer etc. similar to the one we already run is in the region of £6,000.

We are of course involved in a lot of other fundraising projects including donations from amongst others, the Rotary Club of Ilfracombe, Asda, Ilfracombe Town Council and The Lodge of Concord 113. You may have also noticed also that the Ilfracombe Tescos are supporting us with their Blue Token project where you get tokens when you shop and have a choice of three local causes to put your tokens in. The cause with the most gets a share from the Tesco Community Projects Grant. Please support this scheme when you do your weekly shop.
